Our Concept

ooo

MuseTrek transforms how you explore museums, cities, and cultural resources around the world. It is a collection of over expanding ‘Treks’ created by anyone from renowned artists,to the person next to you at the museum.

MuseTrek is your interactive guide available online and on your own iPhone or iPod Touch.

MuseTrek was imagined with two main goals in mind: giving users cultural information based on their interests and democratizing interpretation. By creating an ongoing dialogue between the public and cultural venues, MuseTrek aims to open culture to a broader audience. In marching toward these goals, we believe more people will be interested to participate in generating, and exploring, culture.

To reach those two objectives, we created an innovative platform enabling the public to create "Treks," tag them, and publish them for other users to enjoy.

What is a Trek?

A Trek is a string of objects weaved together to form an engaging narrative, an educational tour, a fun experience, etc. To get a taste of what it is all about take a Trek.

A Museum Tool

MuseTrek is also a wonderful tool for museum curators to interact with visitors. An easy and cheap way to create content accessible to visitors, thus making even the most permanent exhibition a new adventure for viewers each time they visit. As you follow Treks and view MuseTrek sites on your handheld device, give a “thumbs-up” or “thumbs-down” [here have the icons of thumbs up and down] to start building up your own cultural profile. The more you rate and tell your own story the better MuseTrek will become at recommending places, Treks or people to follow.

Sounds Intriguing?

If you are feeling inspired to share your own favorite places, you insights on art, or your personal journies, we welcome you to join the MuseTrek community and create your own Trek. Follow other’s Treks and start publishing your own thoughts, trails, treasure hunts and games, letting others follow in your footsteps.
